Jacob Bar
Jacob Bar is a protein bar company founded by Jake Levy, built on the idea that people who care about their health should not have to compromise on what they eat. Levy spent more than ten years dealing with asthma, rosacea and serious digestive trouble despite plenty of medical care. Things changed when he cut processed foods from his diet and looked closely at what he had been eating: seed oils, artificial sweeteners, heavily processed sugars and syrups, gums, preservatives and stabilizers. Within about three months, he says, his asthma and skin problems cleared and he no longer needed his inhalers.
That experience became the brand. The name Jacob, in Levy's telling, stands for zero compromise, and the company calls its product the World's Cleanest Protein Bar. Each bar carries 20 grams of protein and no artificial ingredients.
Instead of seed oils, Jacob uses grass-fed beef tallow along with grass-fed protein, and the bars are sweetened with organic honey. There are three core flavors. Chocolate uses natural dark cocoa and pure cacao chips, Vanilla uses real vanilla powder, and Berry is made with whole blueberries and organic berries. The company also releases limited seasonal editions from time to time.
