Koeze Company has been making food in Grand Rapids, Michigan, since 1910. Its story starts with Sibbele Koeze, who came to America from the Netherlands in the 1880s and later opened a produce business in Grand Rapids. He brought with him an Old World belief in handcrafting food with care and using high-quality ingredients, and three generations later that commitment to quality, value and service is still at the center of the company.

In 1925 Koeze began making peanut butter, and it still does so today on the same equipment and with the same methods. Its Cream-Nut peanut butter is an all-natural spread made from Virginia peanuts in smooth and crunchy styles, and Sweet Ella's is its organic line, made with just two ingredients: organic Spanish peanuts and sea salt. Koeze makes its peanut butter in small batches, without artificial additives, preservatives or homogenization.

The company kept growing from there. In 1977 it started making gourmet chocolates, hoping to share the Dutch tradition of chocolate confections, and it also offers gourmet peanuts, nuts, popcorn and a snack mix called Fry Daddy's. Today Koeze has two retail shops in Grand Rapids, along with wholesale and direct-to-customer sales.
